I do have to note though that when comparing primate genitals, the testicles don’t tell the whole story. The human penis is actually extremely different from other great apes in structure size and shape, and prevailing theories do attribute this to sperm competition and female mate choice. The closest animals to humans in this regard are non-ape monkeys, who are monogamous. So it’s not so clear cut.
