I was once called a pagan by a trad streamer like 8 years ago because I simply referenced wisdom symbolism and the owl. After listening to your pod/broadcast…I just refreshed my mind on the origin of the word itself. Pagan was a slur for “country people”, by the Romans, similar to how our American culture would say: “hick”. Well, in our current AI, super technological world, I think it’s important to preserve some old ways, and if that’s called “folk” (volk) culture, so be it. Haha
Yes... UK friends prefer to use "heathen" for this reason, but where I live this is an even worse slur for "misbehaving/shunned". Funny enough "Christian" itself started off as a slur in Syria... so I think it is best to not worry about the name too much at the end of the day. Some "slurs" are ennobling in a way
Listened to while exercising. I find that physical activity is greatly beneficial for the contemplation of philosophy and art. "Sit as little as possible; credit no thought not born in the open air and while moving freely about - in which the muscles too do not hold a festival. All prejudices are born in the intestines." I have lately found myself considering Spinoza and pantheism, and feel some sympathy with this view, but ultimately the "intellectual love of God" seems to me too... well... intellectual. The pagan worldview, conversely, which emphasizes not merely the rational considerstion of Nature, but its direct experience, seems to me to be more "correct." Philosophy not as a "school" or set of memorizable trivia, but as a way of life and living. This is not understood by modern academics.

Very much enjoyed this broadcast. A small complaint: the radio static sound is a bit sharp on headphones and has a noticeable ‘whine’, I’d recommend lowering the high end when mixing, should give it an appropriate warmth.
For next time, please fade out the radio noise over the course of the first few minutes, because one and a half hour of constant looping noise is pretty headache-inducing!
